ABOUT THE JUDGES.

Barbara Gorder
President, Undisclosed Location

As an award winning creative at Leo Burnett and DDB Needham Barbara has seen commercials that featured resin chipmunks christmas ornaments talking on the telephone, retail print ads with 6 point type, and web banners that didn't include the name of the client. She is in it for the stories. And the amazing people. In her first year of advertising, she went to the last April Fool Film Festival and never forgot how cool it was. As the head of her own shop now, she enjoys the freedom to be creative in all aspects of the business and funny whenever she feels like it.

Nic Fantl
Global Creative Director, Leo Burnett

Do we need to say more? The man is a rock star who has seen more media plans good and bad than you ever will. He sits atop one of the most powerful media organizations in the world. We're thrilled he's willing to show off his sense of humor and get in the trenches with us.

Brigg Bloomquist
Copywriter, Element 79

Brigg has won awards, moved needles, directed commercials, worked with monkeys and insulted washed-up celebrities. In his eleven-year career Brigg has achieved most advertising clichés, while trying like holy hell to avoid writing them. But we all have those ads we aren’t so proud to claim. And that’s what the April Fool Film Festival is all about.

THE MISSION.

The April Fool Film Festival mission is to entertain the advertising industry. It does not take itself seriously in any way shape or form. And it doesn’t want you to take it seriously either. Individuals with no sense of humor need not enter or attend. We seek to create camaraderie between all the individuals who art direct, write, plan, buy, concept (you get the idea) whateverhaveyou and whateverittakes to do the business of advertising. Some days are award-winning and glamorous. Most are not. So let’s have some fun, tell some stories, and celebrate bright ideas that have gone bad…
